Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar has acclaimed love and praise from people across the country.The director of the series, Sanjay Leela Bhansali created an extravagant charm amidst the audience with his craft. During promoting the series, the cast of Heeramandi shared multiple behind- the- scenes experiences. Aditi Rao Hydari as Bibbo Jaan has been lauded highly for her role in the film. Reflecting on her experience working with the renowned filmmaker, Hydari also shared insights into Bhansali’s directorial style.

Recalling a particular instance, she disclosed Bhansali’s playful teasing about her struggle to convey anger convincingly. During her interview with Bollywood Hungama Aditi recounted Bhansali’s words, telling her, “If I say angry scene, she’ll do one love scene with full Shringar bhav.” Hydari admitted that portraying anger was a challenging feat for her, given its exhausting nature.

Aditi’s character in the series expected her to be a ‘passionate, rousing girl’ as she had to be the most convincing person for all the other characters to have faith in her.

The Rockstar actress said, “That day, we did two-three takes and then he just called me very sweetly and he started speaking to me. I immediately got taken into another world. He speaks very beautifully and he speaks from his heart, so it’s so passionate and I had tears in my eyes. It donned upon me like what he is telling me so incredibly beautiful, I’m blessed.”

She continued, “And then he said we were going to shoot this scene and gave everybody a lunch break, except me. He asked, ‘Is that okay?’ I was like, ‘Done’. So I didn’t eat and it really helped me. It kept me on the edge and not soft. So I went back to my van and I just thought about everything that he said. He basically told me a story. I came back, and we shot it and it was okay.”

Throughout the filming process, Hydari expressed admiration and respect for Bhansali’s guidance, emphasising their harmonious collaboration devoid of conflict. ‘Heeramandi,’ an ensemble project featuring Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Sonakshi Sinha, and Fardeen Khan, among others. The series is currently streaming on Netflix.
